Fostercarer Transfers

 Foster carers have told us that  some of the reasons they  transferred to another fostering agency were :

  • Lack of good enough support from their fostering agency;
  • The agency failed to listen to their concerns;
  • The training in fostercare they needed was not available;
  • The fostercare agency they moved to provided a higher level of foster carer payments.

Today children and young people are in need of increasingly skilled foster carers and more complex services to support them.

Fostercare is in the process of significant change and foster carers are being described more as part of the childcare workforce and not just as people who volunteer their services.

In summary, Simply Fostering supports the right of foster carers to move between fostercare agencies in order for them to receive the service that better suits them and their families.

Foster carers have told us they work at their best:

  • When they feel valued;
  • When they continue to make a difference;
  • When they can give their best;
  • When they can act on their beliefs and values.

Simply Fostering provides a completely confidential service for approved foster carers who want to know more about transferring to another fostering agency.
